I'm sure there are mythological characters who had an even worse time of it (mummies that only wake up every so many centuries).
I'm ashamed to say that I haven't seen any of the Friday 13th films, although I've been meaning to forever. Now that you've reminded me, I'll probably rectify this soon.

Why can't Jason do his thing on, say, Friday the 12th? I would think it's close enough, date-wise. How about Friday the 14th? Should one day's lateness really be enough reason to deprive the news networks of some really profitable slasher-rampage coverage? I don't think so!
